Summarise Written Text (SWT) is one of the two question types in the Writing section of the PTE Academic Exam. The PTE Academic Exam is an English proficiency test for non-native speakers, used for studying, working, or immigrating to English-speaking countries.

Read the instructions provided in bold italic text and complete the answer in the response box provided. The time allowed for an SWT question is 10 minutes.

The scores for this question will be determined by the following criteria.
- Content: This is based on how appropriate the test taker's response is in relation to what was asked and also whether the important key points have been included. (e.g.: A response written on a topic that is different from what was asked or a response that requires certain keywords that should have been memorized)
- Form: These credits will be based on more formal traits in the response. (e.g., the number of words)
- Grammar: Based on how well structured the sentences are and whether they consist of any grammatical errors.
- Vocabulary: Evaluate whether the response consists of words that are related to the subject matter and the correct usage of those words.
Spelling: Evaluates the correctness of your spellings.
The overall score is calculated by combining the above five scores. Even though the Spelling attribute is not shown separately in the score report, it still affects your overall score.
Minimum Mark: 0
Maximum Mark: 90
